USED SNOWBOARDING EQUIPMENT
New Contraband Bindings?
Has anyone used the new Ride Contraband bindings with the V-strap? I was about to buy my new board and the guy at the shop was trying to tell them to me with them.
I’ve been snowboarding for a few years now but never owned my own equipment so i don’t know that much about what i need and what would be good.
I’m defiantly getting the new 09 GNU altered genetics board.
I do some park riding, but mostly just mountain.
Has anyone used the new contraband binding, or heard anything about them. Pro’s and Con’s?
If not what kind of bindings and boots should i look at?

not many people have tried them, as they are new this year. There was a review in TW snow I think where the reviewer said they were to tight on his toes when he ratcheted down the ankle strap and he missed being able to independently adjust his toes.
They look like an interesting idea, but I have never been one to jump on new technology right away. Next year they’ll make design improvements or abandon the idea entirely, so I have a “wait and see” approach, much like HD DVD v. Blue Ray.
I’d recommend Union Force Bindings. $200. Very well constructed and solid.
