SHAUN WHITE SNOWBOARDING REVIEW

How are these ds games?

I need a review on these games
1. Skate it
2. skate 2
3.shaun white snowboarding

Are they good games?
Are the graphics good?
Are they games that people can actually beat or are they extremely hard?

The skateboarding genre might have started with many contenders, but when the dust settled you pretty much had one choice: Tony Hawk or nothing. And it’s been that way for more than half a decade. Last year, however, Electronic Arts decided we’ve had enough of the same ol’ Tony Hawk Neversoft design and developed an ingenious skateboarding “simulation” called Skate for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The way the designers made you work for basic skateboarding maneuvers gave a sense of satisfaction when you successfully complete it. Skate was good. And you know what happens with successful games, right? They get sequels, and more importantly, they get ported to the handheld. Skate It isn’t exactly a port of the original game, but it is a conversion of the unique experience in a stylus driven design. The DS game is incredibly ambitious and is also a lot of fun. It’s just a little too rough around the edges to give it high praise.

The Nintendo DS game lifts the same title as the Wii game released day and date, but the portable version doesn’t really share a whole lot beyond the core concept of skateboarding and offering a unique way of controlling your skateboarder. In fact the DS game feels a little more along the lines of the original skate does, as there are many similarities to the locations and challenges from the console original in the portable rendition.

Skate It’s development duties fell upon Electronic Arts’ dependable DS team over in the UK: Exient. With the company already working on top handheld projects like Madden, FIFA, Need for Speed, and Tiger Woods, it’s not surprising to see that the studio was put to the task of bringing the ambitious skateboarding design to the dual-screen handheld. And for the most part, the team got it down. Not only is the 3D tech solid with open environments, detailed visuals, and realistic skateboarder animations, but the game feels right in controls, too.

Touch screen control is a little overwhelming at first, but you’ll get the hang of it.

Performing skateboarding maneuvers is handled entirely on the touchscreen with handwriting and flicking gestures taking the place of the analog trick stick of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game. The lower screen has an image of a skateboard which is used as a sort of guide to let you know an Ollie from a Nollie — by default it’s displayed at an angle, but you can orient the controls to be straight up and down if that fits your fancy. Flicking from the bottom up performs an Ollie (a nose-up jump), top to bottom a Nollie (a tail-up jump). Skewing the angle causes a kickflip, and adding a bit more curve or angle points will add more flair to the move. The game has dozens of moves to master, and luckily the in-game trick list does a great job showing the exact drawing points to do with the stylus in order to pull them off. Combining those moves with a left/right on the D-pad will add the 180/360s, and a shoulder button will include a grab to the performed move.

If it sounds a little intimidating, don’t worry: it is. This game isn’t easy: just like the console game the DS version is actually enormously challenging but it’s also amazingly satisfying due to its complexity. Skateboarding isn’t an easy sport to pick up and play, and Skate It does a great job representing the sport in a game that has a learning curve to match. But once you get it, there’s almost no going back to the alternative; Tony Hawk, you had your day in the sun, but we’ve had our fill of auto-combos and grinds that can go on forever. The Nintendo DS game is a little more forgiving than the console versions, but that may be due to technological restrictions than actual, intentional design choice. Grind rails are a little more magnetic than in other Skate games — it’s not quite as automatic as Tony Hawk because you still have to have an accurate jump move towards the rail you want to boardslide.

This is not my review for Skate it. But this is the best I can get you xD

WHITE SNOWBOARDING FOR WII

Best Ever Wii Accessories

Weeeeee! It was the first big innovation in gaming (other than new media types and better graphics) since the advent of simulated 3D gamins in the Nintendo 64. A Wii is great fun … but without a cool complement of accessories, it’s like going down a slide with rubber pants on! Today we check out some of the best ever Wii accessories, both the ultra-specific and some of the best all-rounders.

Extra Wii controllers

In direct contrast to the anti-social game consoles of old, Wii is HEAPS more fun when you have somebody to play with. Just about any sport game is useless without an extra Wii-mote and nunchuck, and if you’ve got a 40-inch television screen you may as well make use of it and let your family play Super Mario Galaxy with you!

Charging station

If you’re going to get your money’s worth out of a Wii, you’ll definitely need a charging station. Replacing batteries all the time (especially when you were just about to beat a baddie) is not fun.

Wii Wheel
If you’re a driving game nut, the Wii wheel does add a little realism to your game play. Almost all driving Wii games are compatible with the wheel, but it is never necessary.

Wii Balance board

If you’re into snowboarding, skateboarding or combat games, the Wii balance board is an awesome addition to your experience. It was originally designed for Wii Fit, but has since found a market outside stressed out at-home yoga practising Mums.

Wii Motionplus

The MotionPlus attachment allows a greater degree of accuracy in many games that require it – almost everything on the Wii Sports resort can benefit from the MotionPlus attachment, and if you want to play golf or tennis you’ll need it also.

Wii Lightsaber attachment

Who didn’t run around their house as a child, using whatever curtain rods, sticks and broom handles they could find to pretend to be Luke Skywalker?! Until something got knocked over and broken, that is. As a ‘big person’, the Wii lightsaber attachment is the most fun you can have swordfighting without the potential to actually get hurt. A must for Zelda and Star Wars Wii games.

Wii billiard cue

Billiards are pretty boring without a cue – that’s just as true on the Wii as it is in real life! The Wii billiard cue does make you look a little insane … but once you’ve locked the doors or sworn your billiards buds not to take photos, it really is a must-have for fun!

Wii guitar

Some bands need a non-standard Wii controller (like Guitar Hero and Rock Band) … and they aren’t always sold bundled with the game! But you just can’t rock out with a Wiimote in your hand – these are an essential for some specialist games.

Wii Zapper and other gun attachments

Yes, the Wii makes you look crazy to anybody looking in the window. But if you have a gun in hand rather than a strange-shaped white thing, at least you’ll look serious … not just certifiable! Gun-shaped attachments like the Wii Zapper and other third-party tools aren’t usually needed to play shooting games, but like the wheel they definitely add to the experience.

Get Fit With Various Nintendo Wii Games

Most of us will admit we could use more time for exercising in our life. However, we tend to let other things fill up that time. Why? Well, for most people it has to do with the fact that exercising isn’t something they look forward to. Yet you can change all that by having fun. In fact, studies show those who can find a form of exercise they really love will stick with it.

So imagine the thrill of being able to play video games with your family and get your exercise too? It isn’t just adults who need to be more active and get themselves moving. Our children need to be doing it as well. With the Nintendo Will games for fitness though you can all have a great time and get some well needed exercise as well.

This is an innovative concept which takes video games to a level where it has never reached before. Initially some were skeptical that this way a new way to market yet another ineffective product. Yet the harshest critics which are the consumers have given it rave reviews. They really love the various games they can play and become an interactive part of.

The Wii Fit program involves using a balance board that is connected to the gaming console. This is an accessory that you will have to buy for your Nintendo Will though. You should be able to get one for about $100. As with any type of fitness program you want to be able to gauge your results too right?

That isn’t a problem with the Wii Fit features so make sure you take your time to complete your figures before you get into the program. You will be able to get your weight, determine your level of balance, and even calculate your BMI (Body Mass Index).

If you are interested in setting goals for getting fit, the system can help you do so. It will automatically check those items at regular intervals that you choose. It could be each time you use the Wii Fit, once a week, or even once a month. It all depends on how serious you are about keeping track of both your efforts and your progress.

There are more than 40 different activities that you can take part in too with the Wii Fit. This way you are sure to find at least a few that you really like. Some of them such as yoga are low impact. Others are more of an overall workout due to the aerobic exercises found in the. You can also work on your balance and your strength training.

It is a good idea to mix it up and to take part in a variety of these Wii Fit activities. Not only will you keep from getting bored, you will get a workout that covers all of the areas of your body. You can improve your agility, your flexibility, and even lose weight. The balancing section features many fun activities for you as well.

For example you can try your hand at skiing or snowboarding. You can also take your time to try to balance across a tight rope. Be ready for plenty of laugher along the way too while you try to master these skills. You can practice them alone or even have a competition with other people in your home. It is a good idea to wear shoes for the Wii Fit activities that offer you plenty of support too. This way you aren’t going to have tired feet or injure your ankles.

With a Nintendo Wii Fit, you don’t have to worry about sitting around and putting on the weight. Instead you can get active and at the same time have a great deal of fun. Of course this shouldn’t be the only form of exercise that you or your children are getting. Yet it is a step in the right direction if you are getting very little right now. Change how you view exercise and you can change your overall health.
