This past olympic games in vancouver was the proving grounds for snowboarder Shaun White as he dominated the competition in one of the most watched olympic games in sports history.

I’m suffering from lack of pow pow. Will you help me?

Just two more months!! How can I make these two long months go by quicker? I’ve been rollerblading, bike riding, skateboarding, but I just can’t seem to stay away from snowboarding. Everytime I’m online I’m looking at trail maps, at night I’m looking at my pictures of gunstock. When I’m playing xbox, I’m playing snowboarding games! How can I get away from snowboarding for these two months!?

Putting things in your mind and visualizing yourself doing it is half of your practice to getting better!! Do this –

Go to your local skate park!
- Skateboarding will help you keep your body conditioned for snowboarding and will give you a boost of confidence. You know this!

Watch snowboard movies!
- Watching snowboard movies will help you visualize yourself riding when you’re not actually riding – you will find that the more you focus on it the better you’ll get without practice.

Get a Carveboard!
- Carveboards were invented by a professional surfer (Brad Gerlach. and his father) to help you stay in shape for snow and surf during the summer days when the snow and swell is gone. It may look funny, but it’s fun, and a huge workout. Believe me!

Go hiking!
- If you live near a resort that gets a lot of snow go trekking around the hills to spot out some fun back country hits. You can find fun cliff drops, log jibs, tree sections.. keep you eyes peeled and mark your spots on a map. When it snows you can be the experienced guide for all of your friends.

Check up on all the new innovations from snow companies!
- When your buddy shows up at the mountain with all of this new gear you don’t want to be the gaper who has no idea what it is, or how it works. Read about all of the new features on boards, bindings, boots.. etc, you can never know too much. Knowledge is power! And helps you pull the ladies too..

Paint your board!
- If you’re good at painting and have some free time go buy some acrylic paint and paint brushes. No one likes rocking the same board two seasons in a row, not to mention.. no one will have a stick like yours when you’re done with your masterpiece! Simply sand you board down in the spots you want to paint, paint your design and use a sealer when it’s dry. Low on artsy inspiration? Grab some snowboard mags and copy some designs. Collaborate!

Read snowboarding magazines!
- Like I said, knowledge is power! Every snow mag has trick tips, where to ride, what the best deals are, what the hottest gear is. Read about it! You will find some interesting stuff in magazines like Transworld Snowboarding, Snowboarder’s Journal, Snowboarding Mag, Snowboard Mag.. etc.

Make as much money as you can!
- To get the most out of your snow season make a ton of money during the summer so you can afford to take the trips you want, or call in to work sick for a few pow days and still have enough to feed yourself. I do it every season, I don’t work.. I ride every day.

How put school in front on evrything else.?

I am 16 and am in high school. I really want to do good but I am a person who get distracted very easily. I love to chill with my friends and play video games. But I am finding them always coming first before school. I have tons of free time to do stuff but never ever want to do homework!!!! I hate it so much and never ever finish. I am snowboarding, playing rep hockey, and hanging out with friends in the winter. In the summer I am playing rep football and rep lacrosse or playing video game ( huge video game freak). How can I get in the habit of putting homework before everything else. I guess i am looking for someone to tell me how to get in to a study habit.

Set aside the time when you get out of school to do your homework. Don’t do anything else until the work is completed. You will also find my how to study guide helpful./

1. Have all of your materials ready and in the place that you are going to study.

3. Study when its quiet. No music, no TV, No headphones, no nothing.

4. Do your most difficult subject fist or else you may never get to it.

5. Keep a calendar so that you know when a project is due or a test is going to be given.

6. Vocabulary is very important. Words have different meanings. You need to know the meaning for the subject that you are taking.

7. Study the relationship of things. How is the topic that you studied related to the unit that you are studying?

8. Your textbook has hints for you. Many books have important words or phrases in darkened or colored type, make sure that you know them thoroughly.
