SNOWBOARDING STOMP PADS
I got hurt snowboarding a few weeks ago, should I still be in pain?
So a few weeks ago while snowboarding, I was getting off the lift and was trying to steer off to the side. It was a new board and I didn’t have a stomp pad in the middle so my boot kept sliding so I wasn’t able to make a really sharp turn. This woman ahead of me had stopped pretty much right in front of the lift and since I couldn’t make a sharp enough turn to avoid her, it was either hit her or fall before hitting her.
I fell but it happened too fast to control the fall. I fell forward and caught the bindings and the edge of the board on my shin. It really hurt and at first I thought that I had cut through my pants and my skin. It didn’t cut through and I ended up with a bad bruise. That was about two or three weeks ago and there is no visible bruise but it still hurts.
Could I have fractured my shin or something? I mean, I’m walking around on it so I don’t think it’s broken but I don’t know. How long should it take for a bruise to heal? Should I get it checked out?
when i did the same it took about 2 weeks to heal most of the way and another week or two to be completly healed (i was doing a box and smacked my shin on the edge)
id say if it doesnt feel better in a week get it checked out but it should be fine… thats a hard bone to break
