Kellan Lutz: Poker Player Vampire
As the Twilight saga skyrocketed in the big screen, this blood sucker poker player Emmett Cullen or Kellan Lutz in real life, was once played poker together with his twilight co-star Peter Facinelli’s house. He also participated in the 3rd Annual Clear View Treatment Center Celebrity Charity Poker Tournament Hosted by Dennis Haskins.
Kellan Lutz discovered that he had a wild curiosity about life. This has led him on a search for knowledge in everything he puts his hands and mind to. In high school, Kellan had the unique opportunity to travel to the Dominican Republic for a semester, to study its culture and the Spanish language. This gave him a grounded outlook on life and the struggles that face many cultures outside America.
A brilliant and optimistic, Kellan Lutz speaks fluent Spanish and plays several sports, including skateboarding, track, baseball, basketball, lacrosse, swimming, tennis, racquetball, badminton, snow skiing, and snowboarding.
Before hitting the big screen, Lutz started as a mode, and where he moved in Los Angeles for college with his father, acting is now his passion. The baby-faced yet athletic young man considered becoming a Navy SEAL for a time but eventually decided to quit school and pursue acting. While dropping out was a risk, Lutz was confident in his quest to become an actor. He landed his first TV in the long running soap opera “The Bold and the Beautiful.” Since then Kellan has acted on a number of television shows.
He had recurring roles on Model Citizens and The Comeback, and smaller roles in episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful, CSI: NY, Summerland, Six Feet Under, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Heroes. He was also in the films Stick It, Accepted, Prom Night and Twilight. Additionally, Kellan has performed on the California stage and was the host of Bravo’s Blow Out. He appeared in the 2006 commercial for Hilary Duff’s fragrance With Love… Hilary Duff, and in the 2007 music video for her single, “With Love”. He also appeared in Hinder’s Music Video – ‘Without You’. Kellan also appears in the miniseries Generation Kill, based on the book by Evan Wright.
In addition, Kellan Lutz also appeared in the movie Prom Night, 90210, Twilight Saga: New moon and Eclipse -adapted from author Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling saga, the post-production movies like Meskada in 2010, A nightmaure On Elm Street in 2010 and Warrior in 2010.
During that time, Kellan Lutz received a script of the feature film adaptation of Meyer’s New York Times best-selling 2005 novel, Twilight and was asked to read for the role of Edward Cullen, a human-loving vampire and the “Twilight” saga’s leading man. Fortunately for little-known actor Robert Pattinson, Lutz found the brooding hero too complex and depressing, and upon his return to Los Angeles, turned down the audition, as he might have given the British actor a run for his money.
And when the movie was in a worldwide screening; “We had so much fun doing this, and it’s great to be here and soak it all in.” said Kellan Lutz. The sequel pulls in a record $258 million worldwide, becoming the third-largest debut on record – behind The Dark Knight and Spider-Man 3.
