SNOWBOARDING HELMETS CHEAP
are all snowboarding helmets fairly equal in regards to protection?
i always wear a helmet, the same one ive had for about 4 years. it was one of the cheaper ones available, but does that mean its not as good? i got a concussion a month ago wearing it (i had to go to the hospital and i dont even remember falling)
should i get a better one?

my friends head would have been sliced open if she wasn’t wearing a helmet. she fell off a jump and a guy came off the jump right after her and his board hit her helmet
Yeah get a new one for sure. You should always replace a helmet after a big fall, it weakens the plastic. Some company’s have a crash warranty, were if you get a concussion or other big falls, they will replace the helmet.
This is just a thing to the stupid boarders who think its not “cool” to wear a helmet. The other day, my friend and I were out in terrain park. And we were just warming up/waking up, and all I did was a 3 off a tiny jump. I came down wrong, and smashed my head on the super soft powder, and my helmet cracked right by my ear, up to the top of my head. I mean seriously, Im a level 2 certified snowboard instructor, I work at a local hill and am in the park every day. I do 7’s like nothing and have landed 9’s, not trying to be coincided, but im not bad at boarding, and anyone can come down wrong on the simplest of tricks. We were in the park before the hill opened, and it was a powder day, that landings were like little pillows, but just a little hit can crack a helmet like that. I showed the helmet to a ski patrol, and he said I could have been instantly in a coma, and maby even died. That just shows you don’t need to be doing big stuff to fall hard. And not wearing a helmet, dosnt make you a man, it just means you are too much of a puss to be smart.
