What kind of snowboard should I get?
I just went snowboarding for the first time this weekend and LOVED it, the only thing I don’t love is the price of renting a snowboard! I’m 6′5″, about 175-185 LBS and wear a size 13-13.5 boot. I’ve been looking at the 5150 path. Is that a good board? I’m also not sure what size I want, keep in mind I’m a beginner. Thanks for your answers! Oh yeah, the sizes available are 159, 163, and 166(the ebay seller says he is running low on the 159’s and they might not be there by next friday when i plan on buying them) I
I was just in your situation a couple weeks ago and just recently picked one out (mine’s a Salomon). In the end it’s all about what’s right for you. There are a lot of good designers/producers out there (burton, K2, rossignol, forum, etc…) and I searched for days trying to find one that’s right for me. You are actually about the same measurements as me too. I went with a 167 board myself. Either way, I’m definitely no pro at the sport so here’s a couple video’s i found that helped a little:
