SNOWBOARDING BASICS BEGINNERS
snowboarding! any ideas?
okay so im 15. i really really want to learn how to snowboard. none of my friends are able to, so i would be doing it alone. i know absolutely nothing. any ideas on how to begin? i want to take a lesson, but i would feel pretty out of place because im old for a beginner and i really have no idea about the basics. anything i could start doing by myself?
It is great that you want to learn snowboarding. Taking a lesson would be a good idea. Many people taking lessons will have no previous experience either so don’t worry about that. And age, you’re still young. I was 38 years old the first time I got on a snowboard and took a lesson. So people of all ages are learning to snowboard. So you don’t need to worry about that either.
The basics… well it is all about balance. You need to be on one edge or the other. To stop you just give it more edge. It is hard to explain by writing it down. If you take a lesson it will be easy to understand. It is hard to learn at first because you will fall a lot, so be prepared for that and don’t give up.
