IMPACT SNOWBOARDING SHORTS
5 Years later and impact injury still not healed???
About 5 years ago at the age of 22 I was snowboarding and went off a large jump and ended up crashing. I landed directly on my right hip from about 15 feet in the air. I made it off of the hill despite the greatest pain I’ve ever felt and went to the emergency room. There they took xrays and said that there were no fractures and that I just bruised it badly and sent me home. The next day I could barely stand the pain and couldn’t walk for two days. Long story short, some of the skin surrounding my hip is numb and my hip is still extremely tender to focused touch and often in unbarable pain if I hit it on a table or something. I am now able to sleep on it (after about 4 years) for short periods of time in a plush bed but never on a floor. Also, longer periods of walking are also felt in that hip joint. What’s wrong? Why hasn’t it healed? Will it ever be normal again?
Ask your primary doctor to refer you to a specialist…you should have healed after a year at most. For bruise healings, make sure you are getting enough riboflavins. Fresh citrus fruits are a great source of riboflavins.
