GOOD SNOWBOARDING BRANDS FOR BEGINNERS
Buying my first board, but on a budget?
Hi!
I recently tried snowboarding a few times and really enjoyed it(a lot more exciting than skiing).
So i’m thinking of buying myself a board.Since renting over time also gets very expensive.
I’m a total beginner, but i would still like a board that i can also use once i improve.
My biggest problem is, that i’m on a budget of around 300Euros(400Max).For board, bindings and boots.
I also went to a shop today and they recommended the Atomic Kung Pow with bindings and boots for 300euros, or without boots for 200euros. but from what i have heard atomic isn’t really a snowboard brand(but good ski brand).
Please help.
btw:
I’m 18, 185cm (6.07 feet) tall, weight around 75kg (165pounds), shoe size 46 (US 12 or 12.5 ) and stay in austria.
thanks in advance
I have a feeling that i will also want to do tricks and stuff later on.
Also i don’t think i will be riding in deep snow, or powder.
So, a good allmountain board should be great for me
my first question is if you plan on just riding the slopes or if you want to go into the terrain park and ride the rails and do tricks? Reason for this is if you are just riding the slopes, you will need a freeride board or if you will be riding in powder, you’ll need an even longer board for this. On park and pipe riding, you’ll need a shorter board and one specifically made for this type of riding. My suggestion is if you have the slightiest notion that you might want to try the park/pipe or do tricks later on as you progress in your riding, that you get an all mountain/all terrain board that works for everything. Check out the boards from Burton, Lamar, Morrow, Ride Snowboards, and even K2 in the 160 – 165 range. They all have some good to high quality boards for reasonable prices. Also, check out eBay, K5.com, Moda3.com, and Dogfunk.com. They have some good deals on new and last seasons gear.
