Tips for a beginner/”gaper” snowboarder?

So I won a free trip to Jackson hole WY for the 09-10 season, and I was thinking about snowboarding rather than skiing and I wanted to ask if there were any tips that would save myself from embarrassment on the mountain?

get a lesson, don’t go out there trying to impress everybody be yourself and have fun and you won’t embarrass yourself the ones that act like idiots and suck at riding are the ones that are embarrass themselves

another tip: wear a helmet. Stupid people don’t wear helmets, theres no logical argument against them, my favorite one is the people that think they’re too cool to wear them well think of how cool you’ll be if you fall without one on and end up a vegetable the rest of your life. Last year alone wearing a helmet saved me from concussions at least a dozen times
