FLOW SNOWBOARDING BOOTS AND BINDINGS
I need opinions on my choice of snowboarding gear!?
Boards- Burton Custom-X 156 and K2 Darkstar 153
Boots- Burton Rulers
Bindings- Flow NXT AT’s for the custom-x
I am about 160-65 pounds and am exactly 5′ 11”
Do these products work well together?
Also I need suggestions for bindings for the K2 which i will
be using for the park!
Well, if you got the ‘09 Custom X, it’s an “ICS” board. If that’s the case, you might as well set it up with a pair of Burton EST bindings for complete compatibility. There is a conversion disk that is supposed to offer ICS-compatibility for non-Burton bindings, but I can’t say for certain if it will work well (or at all) with the NXT’s — it certainly isn’t recommended. If you got the ‘08 or earlier Custom X…disregard what I just said…the NXT-AT’s will be perfect.
Overall, those sound like some pretty good gear choices, and I’m actually thinking about getting a Darkstar for the park myself…
As for a park binding for your Darkstar, if you like Flow, how about the NXT-FS? They kill it in the park (”FS” = FreeStyle), they’re lightweight, and they’re probably the most comfortable bindings I’ve ever used. I have a pair of the AT’s also, but I find myself using the FS’s for anything and everything (I’ve even used them on my powder board with success).
I hope that helps you out…
